Dr. Mychajliw has developed extensive knowledge in global vision evidence based patient centered best practice comprehensive dental care delivery, including dental implants, to challenging diverse patient profiles such as medically/physically/ psychologically compromised patient populations. His expertise also includes the dental management of cardiac, radiation oncology, HIV, special needs patients, chemically addicted, among others. He continues to advocate for health equity in Dentistry.

Dr. Mychajliw currently serves as the Director of the Advanced Comprehensive Care Elective Course Program and Assistant Group Practice Directorat The New York University College of Dentistry. He also served as Associate Director of the NYU-Langone AEGD Program- NYU College of Dentistry Campus for six years. Dr. Mychajliw currently serves on the Humanitarian Council and is a Life active member of the ADA and the NYUCD Omicron Kappa Upsilon Omega Chapter. He also serves as permanent AGD PACE Administrator for The NY Academy of Oral Rehabilitation and has served on the NYU Committee on Academic Review and Standards, Faculty Development Commission and on the NYU Alumni Board of Directors

Dr. Mychajliw is a NYS Department of Health licensed Infection Control Trainer and Stop the Bleed American College of Surgeons/ US Department of Defense HomeLand Security course instructor.

Course Description:

NYS MANDATORY INFECTION CONTROL COURSE

This course has been updated to include the newest guidelines and recommendations, including additional requirements signed into NYS law regarding sepsis management requirements for dentists. This course may also be used to augment OSHA training in your office.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the completion of this course, attendees will be familiar with:

  • Professional responsibility to monitor infection control practices
  • Use of barriers and personal protective equipment for preventing contact with infectious material (blood borne pathogens)
  • Update on virus, aerosol mitigation strategies
  • Principles and practices for cleaning, disinfection and sterilization
  • Role of occupational health strategies in protecting health care workers and patients
  • New sepsis management guidelines
  • Infection control requirements for the dental profession required in NYS

EDUCATION METHODS:

In order to provide an effective learning experience, Dr. Mychajliw will be utilizing a slide presentation, providing reference links to educational materials, and a live question and answer session review opportunity.
